Fitment Guide
Intercooler core structure and test checks
Organize reference numbers, core construction notes and heat-exchange test conditions before comparing substitutes.
Fitment Guide decision points
- Vehicle identity
- Provide model year, make, model, engine and the intended charge-air layout. Truck and passenger applications need separate envelope notes even when both use an intercooler core.
- Reference cross-check
- Use OE or supplier reference as an inquiry input, not proof of authorization or interchange. Catalog photography alone cannot replace dimensioned drawings.
- Interface check
- Confirm core envelope, bar-and-plate or other disclosed construction, charge-air and coolant port sizes, mounting points and included end tanks or piping.
- Alternative review
- Ask the supplier to explain differences in heat-transfer circuit, pressure-drop test flow and packing list before approving substitutions. Thermal claims need stated operating conditions.
Continue with the front mount checklist when installation position is still open.
- Next step
- Share open core-structure questions, test-condition gaps and destination details so factory quotes can be requested on one specification.
